PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This new, 4-day program, has been developed for Intensive Care specialists interested in ultrasound techniques useful in their specialty.

This intensive program provides participants with tuition in basic physical principles, understanding of sonographic planes, terminology, measurements and probe manipulation skills, along with techniques involved in ultrasound needle guidance. There is an emphasis on the practical aspects of these topics with comprehensive "hands-on" tuition, led by expert sonographers. Low student/tutor ratios ensure comprehensive pratical tuition in a personalised fashion

• Physical principles & Knobology
• Probe manipulation techniques
• Sonographic appearances & terminology

• Vascular scanning techniques
• RUSH Techniques, including:
  • Basic cardiac scanning techniques
  • EFAST Techniques
  • IVC scanning
  • Scanning for Pneumothorax
• General abdominal techniques including:
  • Gall bladder
  • Kidneys
  • Uriary bladder
