Introduction to Ultrasound for Respiratory Physicians

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This new, 3-day program, has been developed for for all thoracic / respiratory / chest physicians interested in ultrasound techniques in the examination of the lungs & pleura.

This intensive program provides participants with tuition in basic physical principles, understanding of sonographic planes, terminology, measurements and probe manipulation skills.

The techniques involved in examining the pleura and using ultrasound needle guidance in thoracocentesis & pleural drainage will be adressed using our new thoracocentesis phantom. There is an emphasis on the practical aspects of these topics with comprehensive "hands-on" tuition, led by expert sonographers .
