Description
This three-day course is designed for Emergency Nurses and Nurse Practitioners who want practical, clinic-ready ultrasound skills for acute care. Through focused teaching and hands-on scanning, you’ll build confidence across key emergency applications including DVT, vascular access, eFAST, early pregnancy, ocular, foreign body, and introductory lower-limb nerve blocks.

Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Explain core ultrasound physics, common artefacts, and basic machine optimisation.
- Apply probe handling and transducer manipulation to acquire diagnostic views.
- Perform PoCUS protocols relevant to emergency care: DVT, eFAST, early pregnancy, ocular, and foreign body.
- Use ultrasound guidance for peripheral vascular access using in-plane and out-of-plane techniques.
- Describe indications and setup for femoral and fascia iliaca nerve blocks in the ED context.
