Advanced Emergency Medicine Nerve Blocks – 2 Day Course
MODULES: PERIPHERAL NERVES, TRUNCAL NERVES

Day 1:
Identify and discuss sites, distribution and application of:
- Plane block 1: fascia iliaca block
- Femoral nerve block
- Median, radial, ulnar nerve blocks in forearm and at the elbow
- Axillary nerve block
- Popliteal sciatic nerve block and saphenous nerve block (sub-sartorial nerve block)
- Posterior tibial nerve at ankle (how to find other nerves at ankle)
Day 2:
Identify and discuss sites, distribution and application of:
- Supraclavicular and infraclavicular block
- Interscalene block
- Plane block 2: Superficial cervical plexus block
- Intercostal nerve block
- Plane block 3: Paravertebral block
- Plane blocks 4:
- Transversus Abdominus Plane block
- PECS 1, PECS2 and Serratus Plane blocks
- Erector Spinae, Quadratus Lumborum blocks.

ACEM | Course 009 is approved for 15 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours as complying with ACEM standards and policies.
ACRRM | This course is approved for 16 total activity hours. PDP units: 1 Performance Review, 6 Performance Review, 9 Educational Activity. MOPS points: 14. Grant eligibility: Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, Obstetrics, Surgery.
