Volunteers play a vital role at AIU
For over three decades, AIU has delivered hands-on ultrasound education for healthcare professionals. To support this training, each week we welcome up to 100 volunteers whose participation helps make hands-on learning possible.
By participating in supervised scanning sessions, our volunteers help healthcare professionals develop and practise their ultrasound skills in a realistic learning environment, ultimately contributing to better patient care.
Our team is committed to providing every volunteer with a friendly, respectful and comfortable experience. We are always grateful for the support of our volunteers, many of whom choose to return again and again.
What do we scan?
- Heart, abdomen, gallbladder, liver and kidneys
- Arteries and veins
- Pelvis, uterus, prostate and bladder
- Breast and thyroid
- Muscles and joints
- Pregnancy at all stages
In other words… most parts of the body!
Jean, VolunteerI’ve been volunteering at AIU for years and I always enjoy coming in. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, and it’s nice to know that by giving a bit of my time I’m helping people learn. I’m always happy to come back.
