Course Dates
Description
This four-day anaesthetics ultrasound course is designed specifically for anaesthetists and clinicians involved in resuscitation, retrieval, and critical care. Through hands-on training, you’ll gain the skills needed to integrate advanced ultrasound techniques into your clinical practice.
The first two days focus on cardiac and lung ultrasound (FELS), providing you with essential tools to assess and manage critically ill patients. The final two days shift to regional anaesthesia, equipping you with a repertoire of peripheral, core, and trunk nerve blocks, as well as advanced needle guidance techniques.
By completing this anaesthetics ultrasound course, you’ll enhance your confidence and proficiency in ultrasound-guided procedures, enabling you to improve patient outcomes in high-pressure scenarios like pain management, transport, and fracture reduction.
What you’ll learn
- Apply advanced cardiac and lung ultrasound techniques to monitor and manage critically ill patients.
- Confidently perform regional nerve blocks, including peripheral and trunk blocks, for regional anaesthesia.
- Use ultrasound-guided needle techniques with precision, using phantoms.
- Enhance your efficiency in diagnosing and managing pain in critical care and emergency scenarios.
Real-world applications
- Fracture reduction: Use ultrasound-guided techniques to provide rapid pain relief and reduce fractures on-site.
- Critical care transport: Improve pain management during patient transport.
- Regional anaesthesia: Broaden your repertoire of nerve blocks for various clinical scenarios.
Who should attend?
- Anaesthetist
- Junior House Officer
- Pain Management Specialist
