Description

Take your point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) skills further with this advanced RUSH protocol course, designed to integrate scanning findings into holistic patient care. Over two intensive days, you’ll refine multi-system scanning techniques, tackle real-world case scenarios, and develop a systematic approach to managing critically ill patients.

Tailored for practitioners with prior experience in FELS, Basic Lung, eFAST, IVC, and DVT scanning, this course builds on foundational skills and is not suitable for beginners.

In peri-arrest and hypotensive scenarios, imaging conditions are often suboptimal. Learn to interpret functional and structural data effectively, cross-check findings, and adapt your approach to each patient’s unique needs.

The RUSH protocol focuses on assessing the interaction of multiple systems under stress, equipping you with the tools to create tailored management strategies and make confident clinical decisions.

Who should attend?

  • Emergency Physician
  • Geriatrician
  • Intensivist
  • Junior House Officer
  • Paediatrician
  • Paramedic
  • Retrieval Medicine Physician
  • Rural Generalist
  • Senior House Officer

Objectives

Participants in this RUSH protocol course will:

  • Apply a Bayesian diagnostic approach to integrate ultrasound findings into clinical decision-making.
  • Perform advanced multi-system scans, including RUSH assessments.
  • Identify physical principles, artefacts, and techniques for optimising ultrasound imaging.
  • Differentiate normal and pathological sonographic appearances in common and complex clinical scenarios.
  • Analyse real-world clinical problems and pathology variants through case-based discussions.
  • Understand the limitations of PoCUS and its safe application in medical diagnostics and procedures.
  • Develop confidence and proficiency in ultrasound techniques through extensive practical scanning with expert guidance.
