Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain core ultrasound physics, common artefacts, and basic machine optimisation.
  • Apply probe handling and transducer manipulation to acquire diagnostic views.
  • Perform PoCUS protocols relevant to emergency care: DVT, eFAST, early pregnancy, ocular, and foreign body.
  • Use ultrasound guidance for peripheral vascular access using in-plane and out-of-plane techniques.
  • Describe indications and setup for femoral and fascia iliaca nerve blocks in the ED context.
