Point of Care Ultrasound (PoCUS) Refresher Course
ASUM, ACEM, ACRRM, RACGP, ANZCA, CICM
Run over three days, this emergency point of care ultrasound course will re-ignite your confidence in clinical ultrasound. Including 14 hours of hands-on practical tuition on real patient models with varying degrees of difficulty.
This course has been specifically designed to address the needs of any practitioners who have previous practical ultrasound experience but feel the need for review. The aim is to improve your existing point of care ultrasound skills and problem solving techniques.
NB: This course is suitable for those clinicians who have completed a basic course (even if it was years ago) and have had reasonable levels of hands-on experience. It is NOT suitable for those with NO previous training. This course aims to improve your understanding and use of ultrasound to answer clinical questions and acquire better images.

The objective of this emergency point of care ultrasound course is to have you scanning and making sound clinical decisions by the end of the course.
CCPU units included in the course:
- Extended Focused Abdominal Scan for Trauma (eFAST)
- Basic Early Pregnancy
Course 043 is approved for 22.5 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours as complying with ACEM standards and policies.
This course is approved for 21 total activity hours. PDP units: 15 Educational Activity. Grant eligibility: Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, Obstetrics, Surgery.
This course is an RACGP CPD Accredited Activity 40 CPD Program points in 2020-22 Triennium. RACGP Provider Number 214288, Activity ID 192312.
Participants in the ANZCA and FPM CPD program may claim this this course under the Knowledge and Skills activity short format learning at 2 credits per hour.
